Intensive EMDR for Operational Stress Injuries: Finding Hope After Trauma
There is hope for those who have experienced multiple Operational Stress Injuries (OSI). That hope lies in intensive EMDR treatment, which gives each injury the focused attention it needs through reprocessing.
How EMDR Works
EMDR therapy follows a structured past–present–future protocol. Comprehensive treatment requires:
- Targeting and reprocessing past memories linked to the operational injury
- Processing the original trauma so it is no longer “frozen” in the nervous system
- Preparing for the future—building a goal-oriented life free of negative beliefs and disturbing emotions
What Causes PTSD?
Trauma becomes locked—frozen in time. The memory, with all its sights, sounds, body sensations, negative beliefs, and emotions, gets stuck in the nervous system.
This makes the brain believe it is re-living the traumatic event, even years later.
Triggers such as certain sights, sounds, smells, places, or people can cause a survivor—a warrior, a veteran, or a first responder—to relive the nightmare again and again.
Why Intensive EMDR?
Intensive EMDR is a powerful option for those living with multiple operational stress injuries or combat trauma.
- Sessions are structured as three-hour reprocessing blocks over five consecutive days.
- Each OSI or trauma memory is processed fully, one at a time.
- Results include significant reduction—or in many cases, elimination—of Post-Traumatic Stress Injuries (PTSI).
There Is Hope
You do not have to live in the cycle of re-living trauma. With intensive EMDR, you can suffer less—and in some cases, be released from the disturbance completely.
I offer intensive EMDR programs once a month for First Responders.
I am also a VA provider. Please contact me if you are ready to take this next step in your healing journey.
